    A small village by the fjord Stöðvarfjörður (population 257), largely formed in the early 20th century. Near the village there are a lot of very beautiful and rare stones, and one of the residents, Petra Sveinsdóttir, has established a museum of stones and rocks. Stöðvarfjörður is well known in Iceland for activities concerning art and music.
