JRJ/Superjeeps was founded in 1999 by Director Jóhann R. Jakobsson in Varmahlíð.

The idea of superjeep tours came after years of interest and driving in the wilderness of Iceland.

The first real superjeep tour took place when Jóhann bought his first superjeep, Gaz-69 Russian army truck. In that truck he went on an adventure trip that lasted for 10 days over Sprengisand, Gæsavatnaleið north of Vatnajökull, to Askja and all the way to Mývatn.

Today we offer all year round tours for those how want to enjoy Icelandic nature at its best.

 

As well as offering these great superjeep tours we have a guesthouse. The guesthouse Himnasvalir at the farm Egilsá is in the northwest part of Iceland, in Skagafjörður. Your hostes are Jóhann R. Jakobsson and family.
