Brúnalaug Guesthouse is a well equipped separate cottage located in peaceful and beautiful surroundings only 12 km from the town of Akureyri in North Iceland. The cottage accommodates up to 7 people in 3 bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and two bathrooms. Crib, high chair and baby carriage available free of charge. There is a large veranda by the house with gas barbeque facilities and a hot tub.
The friendly and environmentally-conscious hosts at Brúnalaug also operate a geothermal greenhouse. It is possible to visit the greenhouse and purchase fresh vegetables, including sweet peppers, cucumbers and parsley.
The area has abundant birdlife in spring/summer and there are many interesting
walking routes around the valley and surrounding mountains. Nearby facilities
and places of interest include a geothermal swimming pool, two golf courses,
the Christmas Garden and Museum of Small Exhibits.

Where to find?
From Akureyri - Drive through Akureyri town, onwards into the valley along road no. 821 past the Christmas Garden, Hrafnagil village and the municipal school and swimming pool. When you arrive at the crossroads at Laugaland/Eyjafjarðarsveit you take a left turn onto road no. 823, drive over the bridge and then you see the greenhouses. Brúnalaug is the first farm at the foot of the hill. There are three buildings, the guesthouse is the bottom one. Where the driveway splits, take the lower path towards Brúnalaug Guesthouse which is located directly above the greenhouses and is clearly marked.
